With valentines day being a popular holiday for giving your loved one the candy that they want, you want to give them a heart shaped box that they will love. Here are a couple of cool ideas to do this.
First, take an apple, a crafting knife, a heart-shaped cookie cutter, and two bowls of red paint. Cut the apple out so it’s in a smaller shape, and then push the heart-shaped cookie cutter through it. Toss out the border, and then dip the hart into the cookie cutter, and then start to push it down onto the paper in different colors, such as pink and red. it’s that simple!
At this point, you’ll then have heart-decorated wrapping paper. If you need to touch up on the paint on his, go over it with a small acrylic brush.
At this point, get a template online for boxes. You can typically choose one that’s simple. Cut it out, and you’ll notice some of the hearts aren’t totally fully shaped at this point. that’s fine, it adds to the texture of it. Cut out the template, and then, fold the corners as needed, pulling them all together. you’ll then have a box shape.
At this point, it’s time for you to fill this with candy. Put some candy in there that works for the person who is receiving it, and give them something that they will love.
From here, you’ll see those two heart-shaped flaps, right? You want to fold those bad boys over and from there, you’ll create a cute little heart shaped box with hearts on it. It might seem almost a little too extra, but let’s face it, people love it when they get something that’s made with love, and this is a simple idea. Plus, if you don’t feel like spending a ton of money on printed paper, this is a much cheaper way to go. You can get other cutouts and use apples for this too since apples tend to be strong.
As of note, don’t cut the apple too thin. That will cause it to sink in. that won’t help if you’re designing this. What you should do, is make it, and from there, toss the contents since you obviously won’t’ want to eat that apple. But again, if you already have apples at your disposal, then this is the way to do it, and this something that you will love.
