One fun one that you can make for parties is pineapple. you’d be surprised at how many pineapple candies you can put in here, and if you’re having a summer party, a pool party, or even just a fun luau, then you definitely will want this. The best part is that they are actually super easy if you have the supplies, and they’re actually quite easy to procure. Here, we’ll tell you how to make them.
First, you need color cardstock, and scissors or a silhouette, which in my opinion is actually better than scissors, bone folder if you’re cutting by hand, a craft knife if you’re cutting by hand, markers which are optional, and a pineapple box template if you want to use that, or the silhouette studio file.
Now what you do is you first print out the PDF template on cardstock, use scissors to cut outside the edge, and then score along the lines where you fold with a bone folder, and then finally, cut the slits in the top and front area of the box with the craft knife. The template isn’t super complicated, and you can cut this by hand. You can also use a silhouette, which allows for you to cut the gift box along the fold lines, which means they go together in no time at all.
You can crosshatch the cardstock before you cut, and this can give a nice touch, again totally optional.
Next, you fold the box up, glue it together with adhesive and press it together. Once this is formed, you can add leaves to the top, fold it onto there, and slip through the slit, and secure with a little bit of adhesive.
Next, at this point, you want to fill up the boxes. I love to put little candies in there, such as Lemonheads, but if you can find pineapple candies, this is a great addition for them. At this point, fill them up as much as you can, and then close the top.
These are great little gift bags to give to friends, or they can be used as fun little centerpieces as well. It is good if you have a template for this, and if you plan to make a lot of them, I do suggest getting a silhouette machine in order to ensure that you get the most from this. it’s a fun little thing, and le’ts face it, having themed candy boxes for a summer party is a joy!
